For SS27, founder Galib Gassanoff presented YAD, a collection built around dual meanings. In Azerbaijani, yad refers both to someone who is foreign and to memory itself. That tension between belonging and displacement became the emotional foundation of the collection, exploring heritage, identity and the experience of carrying culture across borders.
The runway itself became part of the narrative. Vintage carpets from across the Caucasus, Anatolia, Northern Iran and Central Asia covered the floor, while models walked barefoot in hand knitted jorabs crafted by Azerbaijani artisans in Georgia. Throughout the collection, traditional craftsmanship met contemporary construction, with sculptural knitwear, deadstock Italian fabrics and repurposed Georgian Tetri coins transforming personal history into wearable forms. Rather than being treated as an emerging side project, Institution joins the official schedule alongside some of the region's biggest names, proving that new voices deserve the same stage as established ones.
Instead of simply sponsoring events, Zalando has positioned itself as an active contributor to the next generation of designers. Through the Visionary Award, emerging labels receive financial backing, mentorship and production support that extends far beyond the runway itself.
It's a reminder that investing in creativity isn't just about visibility. It's about giving designers the resources to actually build something sustainable.

This season, the Finnish house took a bold step by leaving its most recognizable symbol, the iconic Unikko print, entirely off the runway. Instead, the collection explored a quieter expression of the brand's identity through rich textures, fluid silhouettes and a fresh mix of patterns that felt both familiar and unexpected.
Rather than relying on its biggest icon, Marimekko demonstrated the depth of its design language. The collection felt confident, playful and contemporary, proving that the brand's DNA extends far beyond a single print.
More than anything, the collection captured the optimistic energy that has always defined Marimekko. In a week filled with conceptual storytelling, it offered something equally powerful: clothes that celebrate individuality, creativity and the simple joy of getting dressed.
